More Vista problems

When Microsoft released Windows defender, I thought I would d/l this application and give it a go. Back then running on XP I thought that it was a great little tool, because it let you know what was modifying things within your system.

On Vista this does do the same thing, but there is an added feature that you will not be aware of. It appears that the product Microsoft live OneCare, isn't as cracked up as it can be. I have already blogged the fact that the windows firewall isn't as secure as it should be still allowing trojans to send personal information out from your computer. But how about this, your computer can become even less secure because without warning the firewall will be switched off, you will not know that this is the case unless you happen to go looking.

And to top it off, I was chatting to a Java developer at work and while we where sitting there in front of the computer defender also switched itself off. Now this is a complete fresh install and not an upgrade so theree is no older software that could be hindering Vista,

Now the problems don't end there, Live OneCare installed windows defender and when I uninstalled Live OneCare it left Windows Defender behind. Thats ok, I went to run the uninstaller for Windows defender and WTF, there is no uninstaller. Ok thats not a problem I'll look on M$ website and see if there is a KB article and google it as well.

All I found was people who had been in the Alpha and beta testing, writing about these exact problems and the fact that you can not uninstall the product. So what gives. Really Microsoft what gives.

Vista bug free, I laugh. I have had nothing but blue screens since installing a complete fresh copy of vista, it doesn't recognise my monitors where XP knew them as Samsung's and know they are general devices instead.

Arrggghhh....
