Australian Coldfusion Developers

You know one thing that I do not tolerate easily is a fool, and when someone jumps on a bandwagon and can't be bothered to read the facts.

This week I publicly made a statement, this statement was not made lightly and it was in context to the thread in question.

Till.......

The one thing that I do admire, is the loyality that is of some Coldfusion developers. What I do not admire, is that so far they do not seem to be very bright. And when you voice a concern that is something that you know is a problem, it appears that the same individuals time and time again seem to miss the point.

So when I see something like this, it makes me mad only because this person not only attacked me for stating what is happening, but made himself look like a fool as well.

And I quote Mark Picker.

"You are a d#$khead. Plain and simple. (You seem to get that a lot)

WTF? You are developing an application that requires that large a spend on licences and you don't even contact Adobe? God help any clients paying you for advice."

So not only did this guy come in late, he didn't even get his facts right. Part of my statement was that we did not look at Coldfusion for this product and stated all the reasons why, the reason behind the decision was not in my hands, and to top it off the answer to his question was already stated in many posts before hand.

Look, at the end of the day I made it clear that I tried to pitch for Coldfusion as soon as I could, I made that very clear... And I also made it clear as to why Coldfusion was not considered....

And you wonder why companies are getting burnt by Coldfusion developers, and that is another issue that came to light today but I am not going to discuss that publicly. Because I know that not all Coldfusion developers would go out of their way to do this, but I mention it becuase its what is being discussed by companies that are changing / moving away from Coldfusion.

I will not retract my concerns, I only echoed what I have being hearing for the last 2-3 months and what has been discussed in the past.
