Gumbo and my thoughts

Had a quicj read of what Gumbo is today, and from what I can see its looking like it will be a great product.

However, I seriously hope that the Design in mind is just that. One of the things that I have not like about this product, is how much manual coding is involved. When you look at what Microsoft delivered and in a shorter time frame to market, Silverlight and the Expression Suite I felt that Adobe could have provided more with Flex Builder 2 and was somewhat disappointed with what I saw on the UI and properties side.

When first playing everthing is daunting, so the lack of this was annoying to say the least.

  • Daniel Sellers's Gravatar If you are looking for something with a more design oriented approach to application creation from adobe you should look at

might answer some of your complaints with Flex Builder...

  • Andrew Scott's Gravatar Actually design is not the right term then.

The point I was trying to make was that if I place an object down onto the canvas, that I should be able to see or modify all properties and attributes to that object.

This has never been fully implemented in the Builder.

However I am interested in Flash Catalyst, that does look likes interesting.
