ColdFusion proof of concept revisited
Tags: Coldfusion
A few years ago I wrote a proof of concept for a project I was working on that had some limitations, and one of those was that I couldn't get access to the server to do some minor tweaking. The person looking after the IIS server was not in any way shape or form at that time, wanting to even switch on gzip encoding for the server.
Whether it was from a lack of knowing how, only that person will know.
So today I wish to revisit that proof of concept because the subject arose about the whitespace management in ColdFusion, it isn't perfect and it is down right stupid the amount of whitespace that is still left behind in ColdFusion. As well as the amount the page request can be reduced by adding a whitespace removal script, coupled with my proof of concept it can reduce the bandwidth on servers that one has trouble getting them to switch GZip encoding on. Anyway have a browse over to Proof of Concept.
